Despite struggling mightily in a season-opening road loss to Iowa, Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen still has plenty of buzz looking ahead to the 2018 NFL draft.
Need proof? How about half the league sending a representative to watch Allen and his Cowboys face off against Oregon this weekend, per NFL.com’s Chase Goodbread.
Unsurprisingly, the list includes teams like the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers, two clubs with big needs at quarterback and a high likelihood of picking early in next year’s draft.
Other quarterback-needy teams on the list include the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars, while teams looking for a successor to an aging veteran like the Los Angeles Chargers, New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals are also reportedly attending.
It’ll be a welcome chance for Allen to bounce back and prove he can be effective against a more talented defense from a bigger program. For all his physical traits, Allen’s ability to succeed against top competition will be his most substantial hurdle in the draft process.
